He had first tried smoking at the age of 7 in NY during the mid 90s golden years of weed. The plant was not just a means of recreation but a symbol of resistance. Going to different schools and Maintaining different relationships throughout the years with weed was prevalent to his survival. However, the law was not on his side. The War on Drugs, particularly harsh on minority communities, meant that young men like 914buds were often targeted by law enforcement.

• He was no exception. He faced constant harassment and suspicion from the police. Walking down the street or hanging out with friends could easily turn into a stop-and-frisk situation. The mere association with cannabis culture painted a target on his back.

• In his late teens, he had many different financial struggles with his family starting over and losing memorys and again depending on marijuana for survival . He was arrested several times for possessing a small amount of marijuana throughout his teenage years . 2014 was a cannabis felony he received in CT for POSS/DIST. The arrest was a turning point. The legal system, unforgiving and biased, treated him harshly. He had been in /out jail. Fined/Probation. From Nyc to Ct . 914BUDS used this time to educate himself about the laws, cannabis, and the growing movement for legalization.
